At the Bybee Lakes Hope Center, two pioneering organizations have united to create something unprecedented: a seamless bridge between behavioral health treatment and sustainable reentry that removes barriers rather than creating them.
Founded in 2007, Oasis is a multi-service behavioral health company with providers spread across the region, offering compassionate mental health counseling, EMDR trauma work, and psychiatric services. Helping Hands contributes over 20 years of trauma-informed reentry expertise and a deep understanding of what it takes to rebuild a life.
“When I was thirteen years old, I found myself homeless, addicted, and running away from the traumas I experienced. For twenty-seven years, I didn’t have any hope, but then the community wrapped their arms around me, and changed my life. Since 2002, I’ve made it my mission to bring that support, hope, and transformation to anyone experiencing homelessness.”
— Alan Evans, Founder & President, Helping Hands Reentry
Working with over 80 trained referral partners across the Portland metro area, we ensure individuals receive appropriate placement and support from day one. Same-day intakes available when space permits.
Every person receives a personalized plan that addresses their unique circumstances, trauma history, and goals. Plans integrate clinical treatment with practical life skills and community connections.
The majority of our staff have lived experience with homelessness and recovery. This creates authentic connections and understanding that goes beyond professional training.
We track individual stories, demographics, and needs in our proprietary database, using this information to guide treatment and measure meaningful progress toward sustainable independence.
Rather than forcing individuals to navigate separate systems for treatment and housing, we’ve created a unified approach where clinical care and reentry support work hand-in-hand.
Helping Hands’ data-driven approach ensures accountability and continuous improvement. We track both clinical outcomes and practical achievements that lead to sustainable independence.
